Duro Bag employee donates a kidney to a co-worker in need.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Duro Bag would like to say "good job" to one of our own, Jim Bowers. Jim is a first-shift supervisor in our Richwood facility and he selflessly donated a kidney to Dennis Miracle the third-shift supervisor at the same facility. Friends for 12 years, when Jim heard about Dennis’s polycystic kidney disease he offered to see if he was a match for kidney donation. When it turned out that he was a match he talked with his family about actually going ahead with the donation, and they all agreed it was the right thing to do. According to Jim, "My mother said she would do it if she could. That's when I told Dennis 'Let's go for it.'" Their story was recently reported in the Cincinnati Enquirer (read the full article) and brought to the attention of the local community.

Duro would like to say "thanks" to Jim and "congratulations" to Dennis on his recuperation.
